What food is available?

The head chef has full control over the food. He decides the menu for dinner and breakfast. Please ensure that whether your reservation includes dinner or not. Also, if you book via Online Travel Agencies, the dinner will not be included. But, if you do your reservation with Kam Kam Dunes, the dinner is included with your package. If the half board is not included with your package, you will have to pay 20 EUR for the food for each person (drinks is not included with that). As Kam Kam Dunes is situated in a rural area and desert camp, there are no bars and restaurants around this area. So, there is no other dining option. The best option for you is to include your dining plan at the time of reservation. Before scheduling a booking please contact us in advance.

We have reputed chefs and for the sake of quality, our main chief designs the best food menu, where you will get the best local cuisine. Kindly note that, if you have allergic issues please bring your medicines with you. Because this place you are staying in is very far from the city area. As you are on an adventurous trip, we cannot fulfill any of your dietary preferences. Such as allergic, vegan, or vegetarian. Please do inform us before you arrive at Kam Kam Dunes.

What else is provided for our stay at the tent?

We will provide with you all the basic amenities at the tent. You will have your personal beds for you. You will have your personal bathroom with a shower and toilets. Towels, linen, shampoo, and toiletries are provided for every person so that you don’t have to use someone else’s things. Also, these things can be changed on demand. So feel free to change the linens and other things you find any difficulty in.

The tents are made in a way to suit every type of person. Also, you should note that the place you will be staying in is quite harsh for maybe many of you. So, to a certain extent, everyone has to adjust a little bit at the tent. All the power sockets to charge phones and other devices are in the lounge and restaurant area. None will be there in your tent. So, you have to come outside if you want to charge your phone. On top of that please note that drinks, lunch, tips, and travel insurance are not included in all these. So, you have to either purchase on your own there from us extra or bring your own supplies.

How can we pay for the stay?

Wondering how to pay for the stay at Kam Kam Dunes? To make the payment service seamless, we accept credit or debit cards in Euro or Paypal. Since the camp is situated in the middle of the desert area, there is no signal. So you won’t be able to use any one of the online payment methods you are using right now on site. Therefore we are bound to use credit card prepayment. For any activity, we allow cash transactions only. So, make sure you are carrying enough cash reserve with you when you leave the last city while coming to Kam Kam Dunes.

Please note, all these transactions are excluding the payment you did previously for the trip. Which by the way, can be done online. All the payments done before coming to Kam Kam Dunes can be done online using any of the following methods:-

Direct bank transfer

While making the above payment methods, please note that all this is done via a secure system based in Spain. So no need to worry, you can pay for the stay before you come to us so that there is no worry to pay in cash.

Can we charge smartphones, tablets, or cameras?

Usually yes! you can charge your smartphone, tablet, or camera only at the MAIN tent. You can use the power sockets not only to charge smartphones but also for any other light electronic devices. Please note that heavy appliances or electronic devices that require a very huge amount of power is not allowed to use in the sockets. Our electricity generation is limited to the maximum power preserved by the solar panels near us. Therefore to provide electricity for everyone equally, we request the oncoming customers not to bring any appliance which requires heavy electricity. That will not only work but also increase the burden of your luggage.

Also keep in mind that, all the sockets are available in the lounge and restaurant areas but not in your tent. So, you can definitely charge smartphones, tablets, or your cameras while having the food. We recommend to bring a power bank battery so you have battery all across the trip.

Do You organize transfers from Marrakech to the desert and Fez?

Yes! We can very well connect you to our camp from Marrakech directly. All you need to do is let us know your desired itinerary. And we can quote you a private driver with a 4WD car. Our services are for all types of packages. Hence, everyone can contact our camp executives to organize transfers direct from Marrakech. We also organize itineraries and book riads/hotels with whom we collaborate. We can craft an itinerary that you desire. We will contact you and hear your thoughts and interests and design a customized tour. All of the above services will be extra and this cost is not included in the cost to stay at the camp. Therefore, you will need to spend more. Whereas, the car service from Marrakech will not cost you anything extra.

All other extra services will be charged extra as per their prices in the market. So, please be prepared to bring some extra cash in hand if you plan on things like this. Contrary to all this, you can always come to our camp using your private vehicle without any problem. However, we are always ready to organize transfers for you. We will be there for you to guide to Kam Kam Dunes camp at every point of time.

Is Kam Kam Dunes closed in summer?

We all know that Kam Kam Dunes is situated in the desert area. And it is quite distant from the nearest urban place. Hence, the temperatures at these points can reach to unbearable limits sometimes. Therefore for the betterment of the customers and their health benefit, Kam Kam Dunes remains closed in summer during July & Aug because of the extreme sun. The temperatures can reach up to around 50 degrees Celcius. Thus, the risk of sunstroke in the middle of the Dunes increases with an increase in temperature.

But, we are opened from September the 6th until June the 30th!!! Also, We don’t recommend heading inside the desert in summer. People who are not used to this harsh environment can become fatally ill. The weather here is far worse than normal city weather. Most of the luxury camps are closed during summer because we cannot guarantee a comfortable and safe stay, especially with kids or old people. However, In June, we recommend only stepping into the desert once the sun is going down. The temperatures in those months become far more bearable compared to other months. And these temperatures can be easily enjoyed by the ages of all kinds. But still, we don’t recommend going out in the sun during these times too because you never know what might happen to you.

Can we arrive early?

Yes, any group/individual can arrive early at the Kam Kam Dunes. We are there to welcome you at all times. Whatever time you decide to come please don’t select the hours when the sun is at its peak. In those times we won’t be able to take you to the desert. Also, you will not be able to be transferred into the desert because the temperature is very high from 16:00 to 18:00 depending on the season. Therefore, check-in starts when the sun goes down. We strongly recommend that checking-in should be done during sunset hours.

But in any case, if you arrive early, we can organize the tour in the dunes with lunch for 50 euro per person. The tour will give you a short trip around the Kam Kam dunes camp. Also, it has pre-planned activities and a food menu on it. That includes a private driver and lunch in a Kasbah with a nice swimming pool. Also, you should remember that We NEVER serve LUNCH in the camp. Your lunch will be provided to you during your trip hours at some specified places only, so make sure you plan according to the given lunch timings and places.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

We have selected a specific check-in and check-out times for all the guests that come to Kam Kam dunes. Hence, every group that comes to Kam Kam dunes must follow the timings carefully until and unless you are given extra time. Please note that the payment will be done with respect to those times only. And your plan should be done remembering those time frames only. Guests can check-in between 4 and 9 pm. Check-out time is around 10 o’clock. But we are very flexible if we have availability! Please inform us in advance if you require a late check-out or any other preferences since fixing the timings is very important for us to allot bookings. Hence, this rule.

Note that travelers might be teamed up with other groups during transfer. Also, you may have to wait to be transferred at a specific time. Check-in and check-out times may be modified for this reason.

Can we bring a hairdryer?

Kam Kam Dunes is powered solely by the solar panels that we have established beside our camp. Hence, the power generation is very limited until the max capacity of the solar field. Therefore, electricity is a very precious resource there. And large appliances will not and are not allowed to work. Hairdryer consumes a very large amount of electricity. So, we have prohibited the use of hairdryers in our camp using our resources.

Please note that the use of a hairdryer is not permitted in Kam Kam Dunes as it uses a high voltage that our solar panels cannot cover. Therefore, please arrange something else which does not run on heavy electricity for your own convenience. Any type of heavy appliances will not be allowed to run on the camp and no reasons will be accepted for the same. Therefore, plan your trip accordingly. Whereas, you are free to bring your own sources of electricity to satisfy your own need. But please remember your methods should not disrupt the environment of the Kam Kam dunes. We all have to maintain the decorum of the place at all times no matter what. This is just a matter of 2-3 days. So, try adjusting with something else and enjoy the trip differently.

Beds and Room Configuration

Its always good to have some idea about the tent before landing. So, read on to know about the beds and room configuration of the tent at Kam Kam Dunes. We make sure whoever comes to Kam Kam dunes gets the best out of this place. Our customer’s comfort and safety is our topmost priority. And we try our best in every situation to make everyone comfortable.

Because many people come with friends all the rooms can be double (1 big bed), Twin (two separated beds) or triple (three separated beds) or triple with one big bed and one single bed ideally for families.

Please note that in case of extra people when there is a shortage of beds in a particular tent, we can provide a double bed or put two beds together. But expect a minimal separation between them.

Else, if notified of an advanced time period, then we can also arrange for extra tents for your group for better privacy. But all the extra amenities will require some extra fees which you will have to bear. So, talk to our trip executives prior to planning all this. Plan early for the best service. Animals & Allergies in Morocco

Do you have animal allergies? Then this article is a must-read for you before packing the bag. Check the country animals entrance in advance because they probablly are not allowed to enter into the country.

We want your trip to be the happiest of your life. So why leave your pets while you enjoy it? Therefore, we encourage everyone to bring their pets to the Kam Kam dunes. Animals are welcomed at Kam Kam Dunes.

You will be happy to know that in Kam Kam Dunes we have a dog and a cat as part of our welcome team :). Please note that for people who have phobias or animal allergies please keep that in mind and bring the medicines accordingly.

Also, keep in mind that Kam Kam Dunes is a place in the desert area of Morroco. You can’t ignore the fact that sand will be everywhere. The sky will start from the sand and will end in the sand. So, if you have dust allergy keep in mind that you will be surrounded by dust and sand. So maybe Kam Kam Dunes is not the best place to stay.

If you have food allergies also is not possible to guarantee a different menu from the set menu of the day. Expect also wild animals around since the camp is in the middle of the desert.

What does it mean “a private tent”?

At Kam Kam Dunes, we prioritize private spaces and alone time at the top. Hence we provide every guest with a private tent which means that you will have your own tent in the camp. You won’t sleep with anyone else inside your haima. Enjoy your privacy.

We will also provide each tent with a shower and a toilet inside only for you. Kam Kam Dunes has only 11 tents so we ensure that the place never gets crowded with many people. Therefore, it is better to book your slots before anyone else does. Situations where the tents become full, bookings will automatically be ceased and no bookings will be taken for whatever reason. Please check out the images of the tent to have a better idea.

Is Wi-Fi available in the desert?

Kam Kam Dunes is situated far from any urban area. And on top of that, the area is pretty much secluded and doesn’t have any other facilities. So the answer is No. You won’t be able to get any type of 3G/4G/5G signal unlike other parts of Morocco. We do not have a Wi-Fi service at our location because the location is quite outside of human civilization. Also, there is no telecom company interested in service in this region. But please note, sometimes, and depending on the wind and many factors, you might be able to get a 3G signal of ORANGE. So if you have an ORANGE sim card with 3G you may get internet. Forfeits are not expensive, around 5 – 10 Eur for 2GB.

Also note that to get your own Orange sim card, you will be asked to show your identity card and passport. To, get the sim for yourself, you will have to submit the photocopy of the above-mentioned documents. So, please bring a copy of each with you in case you plan on having one. Even though Wi-Fi or internet service is not available here, but you will feel bore for a single moment. That’s guaranteed.

What is Kam Kam’s cancellation policy?

Please note down the following T&C carefully. Kam Kam Dunes is very specific and strict with its cancellation policy. Hence, please note the following rules before you book any trip or package with Kam Kam Dunes. Please also note that any type of relaxation in the cancellation policy is not there for any type of customer. And Kam Kam Dunes has the right to change any of its rules prior to your booking without your knowledge.

Booking is not confirmed until the payment has been successful. Booking is non-refundable. A full charge will be applied when doing the booking. Each booking requires a lot of logistics to bring you into the desert. So, in the event of cancellation, the full amount will be still charged. If you let us know 30 days in advance we will issue a promo code for the amount of the booking to be used at Kam Kam Dunes for you or any friend in the next year. If the notice is less than 30 days the booking will be non-refundable. Travel insurance is not included. Please read all our terms and conditions here. However, all our staff is very polite and helpful. They will guide you in the best possible ways.
