“Afriquia” petrol station in Merzouga is the only meeting point. Meet our guide there. Once you reach there, he will guide you to a car park to park your car in a safe hand. You will travel to Kam Kam Dunes from there in a 4×4 car transfer. The very next day, you will be again provided a transfer that will help you drive back to the car park to collect your car.

We wish to make this one day in your life memorable by all means. While each desert has its unique beauty, Sahara desert, the hot and biggest of all is full of exceptional magnificence. The average temperature of this hottest desert is 30 degree C while it can reach up to 58 degree ºC as well. However, despite this hot climate, people enjoy everything this desert has to offer. And the temperature falls dramatically at night which can be as low as -6 degree Celcius.

Finally, enjoy the night atmosphere of the Sahara Berber region staying at the cozy stylish tent of Kam Kam Dunes. Built with organic dromedary leather this is not just an exclusive tent rather it is also equipped with a dining tent and chill out area that will allow you to enjoy the view of Erg Chebbi desert at the fullest. Enjoy the trip to one of the most beautiful places in the world. Situated in a secluded camping area in Merzouga, Kam Kam Dunes will give you the best desert adventure you will ever dream of. We wish you to enjoy the serenity right here at morocco.

To schedule a booking please contact us in advance. We will do a one to one session to make a fantastic program to see the desert and plan different activities every day. Note that we don’t recommend stays longer than 2 nights if you did not plan any adventure trip customized for you in advance. A one to one session is compulsory for that kind of stay to understand what to expect.

Your trip will have:-

A tent to stay in: Stay in the tents and enjoy the campfires. Roam and gaze at the sublime beauty of the Milky Way and the universe above you.
Restaurant: For the sake of a better food menu, we have a set menu where you will get every type of local cuisine. Please note if you have any allergies, bring your medicines with you. Because the place you will be staying in is far away from any city area.
Desert activities and trips: – Every possible activity and trips will be done by the employees. We will make sure you will enjoy your time at the Kam Kam Dunes.

Two nights at Kam Kam Dunes

Activities to do staying at Kam Kam Dunes:

4WD Car desert tour: After breakfast at Kam Kam Dunes, the 4×4 adventure begins: our driver will drive some kilometers along the desert following the route of the Paris-Dakar rally.

We will visit a nomadic family and have tea with them. Then, we will do a quick visit to zinc mines nearby the desert. Before lunch, we will visit the town of Khemliya, where the locals will perform a show of a typical Sudanese exotic dance. After a Berber tea, we will go to Kasbah and enjoy lunch.

Afterwards, we can have a swim in the swimming pool. If you want more adventure, we can visit a few wild oasis towards the border, but if you are already tired you can stay and chill by the pool until the sun goes a bit down and transfer back to the camp.

Optionally (+ € 50 per person / hour) you can take a Quad (ATV) excursion.

Back to Kam Kam Dunes. On arrival at the camp, before the dinner, we will walk to the dunes and watch the sunset.

4WD Car desert tour: Price 50 EUR per person including lunch without drinks and car driver.

Time: We are flexible but usually starts at 9:00h and ends at 18:00h.

Optional: Quad (ATV) excursion: +50 € per person/hour with a guide.

Transfer to your own car: If you want the freedom of visiting Merzouga and the surroundings by yourself at your own peace, there is no problem at all! We will transfer you back to your car and we can arrange an hour for a meeting again and be transferred to the camp.

Time: Usually we transfer back to the camp between 16:00 to 18:00.

Price: No cost.

One night at Kam Kam Dunes

One night at Kam Kam Dunes is the second most famous plans that people book. (The most famous is two nights at the desert). Enjoy the beauty of Merzouga and Kam Kam Dunes. You will be provided with every type of possible amenities there. From water supply for your shower to electricity light in your tent, everything will be available in your tents. On top of that, you will be enjoying some of the most adventurous trips of your lifetime. With our well-organized activity areas, you will be provided with an opportunity to enjoy and have fun in all sorts of desert activities. Some of the interesting activities you can enjoy here are:-

Quad/ATV activities (only for private tours)
Sand surf
Camel excursion

Please note:-

– Camel excursion (dromedary) to see the sunset or sunrise. Witnessing sunrise and sunset from the desert is a brilliant experience. Also, you will get to ride a camel for the very first time which is another excited thing. Overall, this is an amazing experience to carry with you forever. Camel riding may be bit uncomfortable for the first time. But, get the perfect guide and you will feel great.

Is Wi-Fi available in the desert?

Kam Kam Dunes is situated far from any urban area. And on top of that, the area is pretty much secluded and doesn’t have any other facilities. So the answer is No. You won’t be able to get any type of 3G/4G/5G signal unlike other parts of Morocco. We do not have a Wi-Fi service at our location because the location is quite outside of human civilization. Also, there is no telecom company interested in service in this region. But please note, sometimes, and depending on the wind and many factors, you might be able to get a 3G signal of ORANGE. So if you have an ORANGE sim card with 3G you may get internet. Forfeits are not expensive, around 5 – 10 Eur for 2GB.

Also note that to get your own Orange sim card, you will be asked to show your identity card and passport. To, get the sim for yourself, you will have to submit the photocopy of the above-mentioned documents. So, please bring a copy of each with you in case you plan on having one. Even though Wi-Fi or internet service is not available here, but you will feel bore for a single moment. That’s guaranteed.

What does it mean “a private tent”?

At Kam Kam Dunes, we prioritize private spaces and alone time at the top. Hence we provide every guest with a private tent which means that you will have your own tent in the camp. You won’t sleep with anyone else inside your haima. Enjoy your privacy.

We will also provide each tent with a shower and a toilet inside only for you. Kam Kam Dunes has only 11 tents so we ensure that the place never gets crowded with many people. Therefore, it is better to book your slots before anyone else does. Situations where the tents become full, bookings will automatically be ceased and no bookings will be taken for whatever reason. Please check out the images of the tent to have a better idea.

We have our own restaurant. And, you can expect all the popular and delicious Moroccan dishes here, somtimes fusioned with Spanish cousine. Mint tea, the most popular drink is also available here. So, plan a trip soon and contact us at the earliest to get the best service at your private tent.

Can we bring a hairdryer?

Kam Kam Dunes is powered solely by the solar panels that we have established beside our camp. Hence, the power generation is very limited until the max capacity of the solar field. Therefore, electricity is a very precious resource there. And large appliances will not and are not allowed to work. Hairdryer consumes a very large amount of electricity. So, we have prohibited the use of hairdryers in our camp using our resources.

Please note that the use of a hairdryer is not permitted in Kam Kam Dunes as it uses a high voltage that our solar panels cannot cover. Therefore, please arrange something else which does not run on heavy electricity for your own convenience. Any type of heavy appliances will not be allowed to run on the camp and no reasons will be accepted for the same. Therefore, plan your trip accordingly. Whereas, you are free to bring your own sources of electricity to satisfy your own need. But please remember your methods should not disrupt the environment of the Kam Kam dunes. We all have to maintain the decorum of the place at all times no matter what. This is just a matter of 2-3 days. So, try adjusting with something else and enjoy the trip differently.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

We have selected a specific check-in and check-out times for all the guests that come to Kam Kam dunes. Hence, every group that comes to Kam Kam dunes must follow the timings carefully until and unless you are given extra time. Please note that the payment will be done with respect to those times only. And your plan should be done remembering those time frames only. Guests can check-in between 4 and 9 pm. Check-out time is around 10 o’clock. But we are very flexible if we have availability! Please inform us in advance if you require a late check-out or any other preferences since fixing the timings is very important for us to allot bookings. Hence, this rule.

Note that travelers might be teamed up with other groups during transfer. Also, you may have to wait to be transferred at a specific time. Check-in and check-out times may be modified for this reason.

Its always good to know the required time and distances beforehand to reach Kam Kam Dunes. We are ready to help you with transportation as per your demand. All you have to do is, just inform us and we will provide you a private driver with a 4WD car from wherever you want us to pick you up. This service is for all packages. If you want us to design your tour plan, we will make it for you. We will book your ride, hotel, and make your tour more adventurous.

Information on Time and Distances:

Marrakech to the Dades is about 5/7 hours of travelling by car. From Dades to Kam Kam Dunes (Merzouga) takes about 5 to 7 hours to reach. If you are from Marrakech, it will take about 8 to 10 hours to reach here. Or if you are from Fez, it will take about 6 to 8 hours to reach Merzouga (Kam Kam Dunes). To get this service, you need to contact our executives and ask them to make it for you. This extra service will charge you extra and it is not included with your camp night acommodation. So, if you want to have a luxurious and adventurous tour, contact us in advance. We, the Kam Kam Dunes team, will always be there to guide you every time.

I want to drive to Kam Kam Dunes, how do I arrive in the desert?

1. Traveling in a 4×4 or SUV car and you are willing to drive across the desert:

This is the most adventurous and exciting way to arrive in the desert. Your meeting point will be at the only petrol station in Merzouga “Afriquia” where our guide will be waiting for you. Our guide will then get in your car with you and give you some basic lessons on how to drive your car across the desert. After that he will direct you towards Kam Kam Dunes. Usually your car’s tyre pressure will need to be decreased to ensure greater ease of driving. Please ensure that you know how to activate the 4×4 mode of your car.

2. Travelling in a regular car:

Your meeting point will be at the only petrol station in Merzouga “Afriquia” where our guide will be waiting for you. Afterwards he will escort you to a car park where you can safely leave your car. From there a 4×4 car transfer is provided to travel to Kam Kam Dunes. On the following day a transfer will be provided to drive you back to the car park to collect your car (free of charge).

3. Travelling with a hired driver:

Please ask your driver to contact us in advance.

IMPORTANT: Please on the arrival day call us in the morning when you leave from your hotel so we can be in touch all the time! Kindly call us again two hours before you arrive in Merzouga. (Usually two hours before is when you are approaching the city, “ERFOUD”).

The meeting point will be in the AFRIQUIA petrol station in Merzouga. Once there we will organise the transfer into the desert.

So, arrive in the desert the way you want and explore everything at your best.

Note: solo travellers might be teamed up with other groups during transfer, plus you may have to wait to be transfered in a specific time within a time frame. We ask you to be patient.
